Frequently Asked Questions
Q:What is the process and how does it work?
A: The first step is to place an order online. You will select your keepsake(s), filling in the necessary information and add them to your cart to check out. Once you placed the order, you will then need to schedule your delivery appointment or ship date for your flowers.
If shipping: When your flowers arrive, you will receive a confirmation email.
~your flowers will go through our preservation process~
Starting with orders that arrived in July 2024, when your flowers are finished drying, you will get an email to your client portal. We will update you with a few more updates in the process (designing, mockup if applicable, finishing steps) and then will let you know when your order is ready for pick up or shipment!
Our process is outlined here for any clients interested in knowing more about each phase: YWB PROCESS | You Will Blossom
Q: Can I pick any keepsake style, or will it depend on the flowers in my bouquet?
A: Yes! You can pick any keepsake style however depending on your bouquet, we may not be able to include certain flowers in keepsakes like Resin Letters, Coasters, Ring Holders and Ornaments as are they are smaller in size.
For example, Roses, Peonies and larger flowers similar in size would not fit whole in the resin items listed above. We would then use any other flowers given, or only pieces of petals or manipulate the flowers to fit into the keepsake, but this has a risk of leaving air holes on the side and some flower exposed especially if touching the edge of the silicone mold. This wouldn't cause damage to the keepsake over time, however it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing finished look.
Q: Are there flowers that don't preserve well or that you suggest we don't include if we want to preserve our bouquet?
A: While we can preserve almost anything, we do have a list of flowers that we do not like to press because they can preserve and not be aesthetically pleasing:
Calla Lilys, Chrysanthemum (Mums), Tropical Flowers, Berries
Q: How do I get my bouquet to you?
A: The best and preferred method is hand-delivering your bouquet! We also receive flowers via shipment of florals. Once an order is placed, you will receive a detailed email with instructions on how to hand-deliver or ship your florals. If you are a local NJ resident and would prefer to drop off your bouquet, please select "Dropping Off" as your option at checkout. If shipping it is important to note to NOT require a signature.
Q: Is there anything I should know about how to take care of my keepsakes after I receive them?
A: Absolutely! Both Pressed and Resin keepsakes have similar care instructions. You want to avoid keeping your keepsakes in direct sunlight, hot temperature rooms, and humidity. This will cause your pressed flowers to fade quickly, and cause your resin to amber quickly. Your pressed flowers will fade over time regardless to a more antique/vintage tone. Some flowers like white roses, pink roses and purple roses will loose their color faster than others even within months of receiving your keepsake.
Your resin will amber over time, the yellow can be anywhere from a minimal beige tone to a pure amber color. This cannot be avoided; however, storage of your keepsakes can potentially slow these processes down.
What is ambering? Ambering is the yellowing of resin. This is caused by UV rays and direct sunlight, and/or hot temperature rooms. You want to store your keepsakes in a cool-temperature room.
Q: What can I expect my bouquet to look like after it's preserved?
A: Our #1 goal is to create a keepsake with your florals that remind you of the flowers you held in your hand on your special day and save your flowers from crumbling away. We are not creating a replicated image of your bouquet. We would like you to consider your artwork as a new life for your flowers. We can't stress enough that your florals are extremely unique. Some may look different than you remember, some may even shrink a bit in size. It is important to remember that pressing/preserving flowers is a natural process and the reason we press is so that your flowers do not mold, and crumble to dust!
Colors WILL change, Pressed flowers WILL fade over time.
I love when I'm working on your flowers and it hits me "this was carried throughout the wedding day" Happy tears cried, sweet kisses shared, and lots of love surrounded these flowers.
They've seen it all.
Every flower responds differently to the preservation process and even two of the same flowers can be slightly different in tone, shape and size. Some flowers preserve similar to their fresh form, but some can change tone:
- White florals can preserve with a yellow/brown/ivory hue.
White florals are truly unpredictable and many elements factor in the way these florals press and preserve. It must also be known that white flowers will continue to change as the years go on. This is part of the natural press and preservation process.
We are currently experimenting with Color Correction and aim to add this to our website offerings in the future.
- Red florals can deepen and darken with a dark red or purple hue
- Light Pink florals can lighten or darken with a mauve/grey/purple hue
- Dark Pink florals can darken with a purple/mauve hue
- Purple Florals can deepen and darken with a dark purple/black hue
We ask that you view our work to see some of these finished tones in our gallery that features before and after photos.
If you are deeply concerned with the tone outcome, please ask for samples that we have created to compare to.
Q: Can I add the boutonnière to my bouquet order?
A: Absolutely! In your shipment to me, you can add your invitation and/or boutonniere! Unless specifically requested otherwise, the boutonniere will be arranged, mixed in with the bouquet design. We also offer a separate boutonniere frame in out shop that comes in sizes 5x5 and 5x7.
Q: What is the turn-around time?
A: The average turn-around time from arrival of the florals:
Pressed Keepsakes take a minimum of 5 months for completion
Resin keepsakes take a minimum of 6 months for completion.
Bundles/Collections and orders with 3 or more keepsake items will take a minimum of 6+ months for completion.
We promise your florals are in great hands! These turnaround times can change. We do not rush through any of our steps in the process and finishing touches can delay products 2-3 weeks. Please do not harass our customer service email with multiple status update emails, we will reach out to you when your order is complete or if we have any design questions.
Minimum turnaround times mean your items should not be expected to be ready before this timeframe, they will be ready after. We do not give hard completion timeframes or dates due to many factors in our finishing process including a waiting queue of orders we are working on at once. Our process is outlined under our YWB Process page.
Every preservation goes through many phases, and it is extremely important for us to take our time with each step. As Artists, we prioritize the timing of our creative energy so we can create our keepsakes for each client.
Q: What does the mockup process look like, if my order is eligible for one?
A: The Mockup process is brand new to our system. As an artist, I struggled with opening the door for client feedback as I truly believe in my design process and taking my time with my own artistic approach. However, I do understand how important it is for our clients to have peace of mind in knowing they will love the keepsake they receive.
When your florals are finished with the reconstruction phase, they will enter design. When I have your design ready, it will be set aside. We work on a queue of orders at once, once we have our batch of mockups ready - they are photographed and individually sent over to our clients in our Client Portal.
After receiving your first complementary mockup you will be able to approve the design, approve but request a minor change with no additional mockup, or request another mockup with design changes to be sent over.
Additional mockups are $25 each.
Once your design is approved, your order will get placed into our gluing queue! If you have add-on resin items, it will be set aside to wrap up completion when your resin items are completed. If it is a frame only order, it will be glued as soon as it's up in the queue.
*Please note that there may be minor changes in your finished glued design as all florals are removed from glass and glued back into place 1 at a time. This is part of the handmade nature of our crafted items, but we do our best to keep the integrity of the approved design. If a main focal flower is broken during the gluing process, we will reach out to you if we are unable to cover or replace.
The completion time from mockup sent to keepsake completed varies and can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks (longer if waiting on resin items).
Q: How far in advance can I place an order? How late can I place an order?
A: We ask that orders are placed 2-3 months in advance to secure booking but we know firsthand how crazy wedding planning can be leading up to the big day! Don't hesitate to order or reach out if you are within the suggested order timeframe. We would love to see if we can accommodate you!
Q: Can I send extra flowers to have a keepsake created for my mom, mother-in-Law, Maid of Honor or Bridesmaids?
A: Absolutely! We have brides choose additional keepsakes (The 8x10 Frame or Ornament Add-Ons are perfect gifts for loved ones!) We ask that you ship as many florals as possible (centerpieces or extra bridesmaid's arrangements) so that we can create full add on keepsakes! Bundles have a requirement of florals.
Q: I will be moving after my wedding, can I change my shipping address at a later date?
A: I would ask that you checkout with an address that will not change (family member, parent etc.) If that doesn't work, then of course we can update to your new address. Please send us an email with any order updates.
